I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Optum (New Delhi) in Oct 2020
Interview
Not great and not at all satisfying to be honest
Let's hope this doesn't continue when other interviews take place at Optum
Judgement of the interviewer was not at all good which lead to a biased scenario
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Optum in Dec 2025
Interview
The interview process consist of three rounds. First two are technical rounds and last one is HR round.
For the first round , it is a live coding round where they will provide a data science task mainly involving data preprocessing , data transformation , missing data removal and label encoding. After that we need to train any ml model of our choice and do evaluation like f1 score.
After clearing it I was invited for the technical round on the same day , it was a discussion where they asked me about my experience and resume projects mainly focusing on ml - dl based projects, then they asked in deep about llms, lora , grpo and qlora and transformer architecture, after that they asked questions on traditional ml algos (boosting algo) , then class imbalance etc. If you cleared this round you would be called for HR round next day and it means you are hired. I was not called for this round and got the rejection mail on the 4th day.

Interview
I applied in the company through my college internship drive. There were two technical rounds followed by an HR round for the interview. The interview focused manily on Machine Learning algorithms and their applications, as well as questions on several topics of Statistics like Hypothesis testing, Point Estimation, Confidence Interval and Covariance relations. The round ended with some confusing problems on Probability, and some coding questions( DP- LPS, Bit Manipulation and array based questions)
