      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      Feb 20, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Omnipresent (London, England) in Jan 2024

      Interview

Kind of standard, but with a takehome assessment that they want you to do as simple as possible not to waste that much of your time but then they ask you for more stuff (and of course more of your time)

      Application

I interviewed at Omnipresent in Dec 2023

      Interview

I applied to the position through their website, got invited to a recruiter screening interview a week after. The recruiter asked a the usual questions for this kind of interview and mentioned that the company had gone through a layoff in the past few months and was looking for engineers for this new, green field project that they were building.

      Question 1

The basic stuff, why did you leave your previous job? Why do you want to join our company? Are you comfortable with working remotely, etc..

      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      Jun 23, 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Omnipresent (Toronto, ON) in Jun 2023

      Interview

Started with intro call with the talent partner, then another with (I think) the hiring manager. Once those were complete we moved forward with separate technical and leadership/values interviews each with two people on the other end. Generally good impressions from everyone I met with. Interview process was pleasant and in a timely manner with good communication the entire way through. All the interviews were mostly conversational with little to no coding or diagramming. The questions asked were reasonable and well formed and gave me the impression the engineering team was competent and knew what they were looking for. Time was alloted to ask questions at every stage of the interview, and followup questions outside of the interviews were handled well. I received an offer with good compensation (what I asked for and I think above average, but not high-end, for the market I'm in) with the PTO and remote work opportunities way above average for my locale (Canada). I ended up receiving an offer elsewhere that I felt was more inline with what I want to explore in my career so had to decline this one, otherwise I would have taken it.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Some questions on system design patterns/implementations, how to handle certain technical use-cases, and the usual values/leadership questions that are common in most other interviews.
