      Senior Software Developer Interview

      Feb 20, 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Omada Health (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2020

      Interview

Fairly standard interview for the beginning of the process which included two phone screens. One with their in-house recruiter, the other with the engineering manager. Once on-site, two paring sessions composed most of the day. One pairing session was to implement a real feature in their frontend codebase. The afternoon session was more backend centric. Overall you get a good sense of how the team likes to work, a huge emphasis on paring and TDD. You also get exposure to the codebase and their tooling/station for pairing which gives a good idea of what the job would be. Between the two paring sessions, you get to meet other members on the team over lunch and have a more casual environment. This is a good opportunity for questions about the team and the company. At the end of the day, debrief with the engineering manager and then their recruiter. Overall the process is pretty transparent and well structured, the recruiting team gives plenty of information on what to expect during the day. The pairing session can be exhausting but you get to know two of your potential co-workers and get a sense of their experience or how they work. This is a pretty unique experience and you're almost interviewing them as much as they interview you.

      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      Mar 20, 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Omada Health in Mar 2025

      Interview

Applied online, contacted by recruiter, did a 1st round with engineer director, then nothing. Not even a rejection. Why is it so hard for companies to treat candidates like people?

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Mostly a back-and-forth conversation about challenges with engineering culture.

      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      Apr 26, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Omada Health (New York, NY) in Apr 2022

      Interview

Process took about 3 weeks. First was a call with the external recruiter, followed by a call with the internal recruiter, then an interview with the engineering manager for the team for which I was interviewing. He asked a series of intermediate React and API -centric questions. And then ended the interview with some behavioral questions and some time for me to ask him questions. After that I had the option to participate in either two one hour virtual coding interviews or do a 4-hour take home. I chose the take home due to my busy schedule during work hours. The take home was a React app with a Flask backend that I had to build upon in a series of increasingly challenging tasks. After I passed the take home, there was one hour follow up with two senior engineers who interactively reviewed the code with me. This was followed with a 30 minute checkin with the original Engineering Manager I had met where he asked me a few more in depth behavioral questions geared toward collaboration and conflict resolution. The final meeting was with the original internal recruiter who asked for feedback about the process and then told me I would be receiving an offer. Overall - it was a fantastic experience. Everyone was kind, communicative, and super helpful. What I appreciated most is that they never once left me hanging. They were extremely on top of their communications.
