I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Octopus Deploy in Apr 2026
Interview
The staff is great, very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately they dropped the ball on communication. It would take multiple attempts and weeks to get a response, to schedule the next steps, and felt like a lack of respect as a candidate taking the time research and try to move forward. Made me question how chaotic management may be in the future if they struggle to even respond back or follow up with multiple reminders.

Interview
1. Recruiter screen over video call
2. Take home assessment in the form of a small piece of functionality to be created in C# with accompanying tests and readme. The design was to be discussed with the team in the next stage. They say formally that the take home assessment should be completed in "an evening coding session", but the recruiter indicated that spending less than a week on it would likely result in a rejection. It was not a complex task but there is huge room for interpretation. The feedback I received consisted almost entirely of inane nitpicks, and also made it clear that the reviewer did not bother to read any of my discussion of assumptions and tradeoffs. Par for the course in terms of take homes really, don't go into it expecting anything special.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Octopus Deploy (Manchester, England) in Jun 2025
Interview
It is a three part interview process. The initial interview is with a talent acquisition consultant. They asked about my understanding on the business, explained further about team structure, processes and benefits. They also asked classic interview questions. Stage two interview was with the Hiring Manager who asked a number of questions to enable you to show off your skillset, you should look to structure your answer like the STAR method. Third stage was with a panel of team members (I did not reach the final stage so have no further information on this part of the process).
