The interview process started normally but raised red flags quickly. The job posting was removed before my interview, and when I asked about the timeline, I couldn’t get a clear answer. There was also mention of a “possible case study,” which was downplayed. In the second round, I was required to complete an “evaluation.” I was told it was not a case study, but the instructions proved otherwise: an unpaid, hour-long case study plus a recorded presentation on how I would improve one of their business units. This gave me the impression that the company uses the interview process to collect free work and strategic ideas from candidates. Takeaway for candidates: Expect to be asked for free consulting disguised as part of the interview process.
