      Mid-Level Manager Interview

      Dec 16, 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at NowSecure in Nov 2020

      Interview

To start off, sadly, ghosting candidates still happens at NowSecure. They have been notified that this is an issue based on previous posts here over the years. It is still happening and it is still extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I've said it and I will continue to say it, you can tell a lot about a company by how they treat their applicants. I'm sure someone will respond and act apologetic "oh we're sorry, it just slipped through the cracks. We'll do better moving forward". Being that this has been addressed several times in the past with no change, I hope applicants will see this post and not waste their time and effort like myself and others did. To get into the process, I applied for this job on the 16th of November. Didn't hear anything in regards to the position until November 30th. The process once their hiring dept reached things seemed to move very seamlessly. The interview, while being fairly general, had to be split into 2 parts because he ended the interview early to interview someone else. Seriously, that happened. The following day, I was to speak with another of their senior level personnel. It wasn't so much an interview as it was a presentation. I appreciated that different approach as opposed to the normal grilling session. I asked some questions and made some comments on the product. At the end of the interview, he informed me, explicitly that I would be moving on in the process. After a couple of non-returned calls and e-mails over that next week, it's safe to say that was a lie. I saw a few things that troubled me initially. Let's start with the obvious. 1. It was established here that NowSecure has ghosted candidates. This is extremely disrespectful and low. Especially during these times with so many out of and looking for work due to the pandemic. I don't care how many applications a company has, it is their responsibility to respond to everyone that applied at minimum. We take time and effort to prepare for these interviews. Noone should be left in the dark. 2. The position had been open for a month (nearly two now). This made me doubt their sense of urgency that was initially communicated about hiring a candidate. Also, the pacing up until that last call was very quick. Then, I noticed someone looked at my profile on another social networking site, prior to going dark. That struck me as very odd. 3. I looked at every current employee on networking site and there was only one person of African-American descent in a entry-level position. As a person of color myself, that was also a red flag. I reached out at least three separate times. I still have yet to hear anything concrete other than one guy trying to catch up with another guy as if noone has e-mail, internet, or a cell phone – that was a week ago. So if their hiring process is any inclination, I can only assume that the day-to-day company must be equally chaotic. To wrap this up – hard pass. Nearly 2 months later, 16 positions, including the one I applied for, still remain posted. If a company needs 2 months to gather enough qualified applicants, in this economy, and still can't make a decision – that's a company that doesn't take their hiring, their applicants, nor themselves seriously. Potential applicants: keep looking there is a more respectful, professional employer out there.
