I applied through university. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual
Interview
Spoke with representatives at our career fair. Also had a friend who did the internship the summer before. Was invited to a first round interview on campus. Standard behavioral and experience-based questions. Need to prove that you are very goal-oriented. Having an athletic background helps a ton for this. In the second round, you are given an assignment where you have to perform ten "fact-finders" with people that you know, similar to what you would do on the job. Third round basically goes over this process, and they give you an offer then and there. Second and third rounds at their office.
You do have to go through the process of being licensed to sell Life, Accident & Health in the state of Illinois. They guide you through this process and compensate you for classes and exams.
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Hartford, CT)
Interview
Was told about the program and how I would need to get certified to sell life insurance in order to participate in the program. The interviewer was laid back and relaxed. It was a group interview.
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (San Jose, CA)
Interview
Three rounds with calls with the head of hiring and with the head of the department, all behavioral questions were asked at each round to get to know you and your network
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Washington, DC)
Interview
Very basic and straightforward behavioral questions, nothing technical. Have a good idea of what you would be doing and why you want to work there so that you can speak to your skillset and how it aligns with the job description.
