I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Tucson, AZ) in May 2011
Interview
3-step interview process. 1st is with recruiter... to get to know you, basic behavioral questions, learn more about the role, etc. 2nd is with the Campus Unit Director (CUD) and it's more about the day-to-day and seeing if you're a good fit. Compensation is discussed. 3rd is a presentation to the recruiter, CUD, and another Financial Rep. about why you're a good fit, how you're going to contribute, and how you're going to give back to the community.
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Hartford, CT)
Interview
Was told about the program and how I would need to get certified to sell life insurance in order to participate in the program. The interviewer was laid back and relaxed. It was a group interview.
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (San Jose, CA)
Interview
Three rounds with calls with the head of hiring and with the head of the department, all behavioral questions were asked at each round to get to know you and your network
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Washington, DC)
Interview
Very basic and straightforward behavioral questions, nothing technical. Have a good idea of what you would be doing and why you want to work there so that you can speak to your skillset and how it aligns with the job description.
