It was an absolute joke and a total waste of my time. Turned out it was for a group interview (not informed ahead of time) and that he was doing group interviews back to back all week. There were 8 of us, we were given applications (including background check information) and then brought into a classroom where the head of the department showed us a slide show telling us why we should work there. Then we all had the chance to introduce ourselves. After introductions we were told that was it, and there would be two positions open and he would be calling people back in for follow up interviews.
It was clear that they did pretty much no screening of applicants and that he was "group interviewing" probably at least 100 people for 2 positions, it was a total waste since I only had a 5 minute chance to talk about myself and since I'm relocating to the area I drove 2+ hours each way. I really hope they start doing phone screenings ahead of time and bringing in less people to start with. I found everything about this process unprofessional and a total waste of my time, even if I get called back, there is no way I would want to work for him or a this school. Plus it sounded pretty clear that it is all about bringing in money to the school, looking at the graduation rates I'm glad I want nothing to do with them anymore.
