Interview
There was a scheduled interview for a tier 1 IT role for this company at a predetermined time and I was late by about 3 minutes due to an unforeseen technical difficulty. Immediately, I messaged the interviewer saying that there has been a problem with the application. Not even 5 minutes have passed and the interviewer decided to cancel the interview right then and there. I was quite surprised and appalled by the interviewer's incompetence for leniency when it comes to being on time for an interviewer. I understand that time is important but a little leeway would've been welcomed. Overall, I am disappointed that I didn't get the opportunity for the interview, and to make matters worse when he messaged me back he had said that he had gone to another meeting since I apparently didn't show up. Puts things in perspective on what he originally had plans for.
Edit: Only putting "very difficult" on the interview difficulty of this since it's required to post this review as I guess it was very difficult since I was looking forward to the job but didn't get the interview.
The hiring process was pretty standard. They advertised an “Engineering” role at $70,000 while being 5 days on site in California. For those who don’t know - that is poverty wages out here. But I applied out of curiosity and, a day later, got the interview invite in my gmail inbox.
I had a live interview with the recruiter that went well. He was really nice. He was able to answer my questions like why ITSG rebranded to NP, etc. Then was the technical interview with someone on the team, who was also down to earth.
Well, I learned more about the role then. They want someone who will do IAM, onboarding and offboarding all day. It made sense why they were only paying $70,000 - there is no engineering to it. This is typically how MSPs operate though - they give a nice title and have you do help desk. The technical questions were…ok. Again, this was a help desk role so they were questions you can find the answer in 2 seconds by googling or asking AI. And no questions about engineering.
Anyway, I looked back at the job listing a couple of days later and they changed it from “Engineer” to “IT Support” so hopefully they find applicants which match the job title.

Interview
Got an email response with a series of questions to answer over a video on the Loom application. Shortly after, they scheduled me for a second interview. Unfortunately, the second interview never happened as they already found a candidate to hire before I could even get to the scheduled second interview.
