I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at New York Life (New York, NY) in Feb 2018
Interview
The first interview is a one-on-one done by a "partner" of the company. First two or three minutes is some pleasantries to check your attitude. And then he asked me to describe what I think I'll be doing in the position. I applied for a "mortgage loan associate" position, so I described that based on the job posting. But apparently, that is entirely wrong. The actual position is "financial adviser", which sounds great, but is actually just "insurance salesperson". The interviewer then spends the next 20 minutes sort of explaining to me why his company and this position is so great, and how much money he and other successful "financial advisers" made on their first year.
You then take an online personality test to check your aptitude. Its pretty straightforward.
You are invited to a second "interview", which is more of a presentation. In the end, its not the sort of position I'm looking for.

I applied online. I interviewed at New York Life (New York, NY) in Aug 2014
Interview
Standard pre-screen phone call. Next was a one on one interview with the director. Got invited for a second round interview which was also one on one.
The people are really friendly and it was quite easy speaking to them. Sadly, I did not get the position.
