Made it to round 2/3 of the interview process for a Junior Professional role at this organization. Scheduling it was a nightmare with frequent cancellations and rescheduling along the way. Was met with a rude, condescending, cranky-for-no-reason hiring manager whose first words to me were "Keep your answers brief" and then went on to ask me numerous invasive questions about my life history, accent, passport, and parent's line of work. I think it made him feel big to talk down to me. Also asked me to provide a sample email to see my "drafting skills." Was then told there's no real structure to the team in question and I could be assigned tasks by anybody (code for poor organizational culture, and I should expect being overworked).
Clearly no set SOP in place for interviewing, or common sense. Can't help but wonder if I would have received the same treatment if I were a different gender, color, and nationality.
From an HR perspective, it was bad practice. From a personal perspective, it was just disrespectful. And I'm not desperate enough to be disrespected. Withdrew my application a day later.
