I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at New City Kids in Apr 2023
Interview
The interview itself went well or at least I thought it did. The interviewer even said she enjoyed the conversation and she would definitely be passing my information on for the next step. However, I received an email 2 days later stating that due to something I shared about my walk with God that they did not feel like I was going to be able to provide mentorship and discipleship to the children. I only shared my testimony of how I held onto my faith despite some recent troubling times and how being in a Christian based job would only strengthen that. But apparently despite them claiming to be an equal opportunity employer (meaning they cannot discriminate based on religion) I was judged on my ability to be a disciple even though that is not part of the job description and I met every other job requirement.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at New City Kids (Paterson, NJ) in Aug 2018
Interview
personally my interview went by very quickly. it was very easy for me to get this job! the interview only took about maybe fifteen minutes! They asked simple and basic inter view questions.
I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at New City Kids (Jersey City, NJ) in Feb 2015
Interview
The interview process began with a cover letter and resume. It was followed up with a written application and phone interview with one of the staff. The final step was an immersive in-person interview during which I got a chance to got through role-play scenarios with students in the program.
