Interview
I was referred to a a recruiter at Netflix from a current high level employee who was a good friend. After about a week of exchanging emails and scheduling a time to talk, we set up a time to hop on the phone and discuss the open position and others that might be available. The call lasted about 45 min and was mostly a "get to know you" call, where I went over my background, experience, and why I was excited about the position at Netflix. The recruiter asked some clarifying questions and to expand on particular resume items but for the most part it was just getting to know each other. At the end of the interview the recruiter was very open that they currently were on hold for hiring for the particular department I was best suited for but that I should continue to touch base with her in case they jumped back into hiring mode.

The interview process was long. I met with folks individually, 5 in total, which made the process drag due to fluctuating schedules. After final interview, result was quick. ~ 2 days.

Interview
Liked me at my first interview but didn't give any follow up progress for 2 months. Told me to wait until assigned manager could schedule 2nd interview but never did, and got denial.
A recruiter emailed me to schedule a 30 minute phone call. During the call, she seemed disinterested and cold. She interrupted me several times to say I sounded "vague" (had she not interpreted me I could have provided more detail). It was all very strange. It almost seemed as if she had already found other candidates to move on to the next round, and speaking with me was just a formality.
