I applied online. I interviewed at Nationwide Children's Hospital (Columbus, OH) in Mar 2025
Interview
It was a long process across about 6 months between my first interview and my start date but just three interviews. I first met with the hiring manager. Next I met with two people I would be working with who could be considered my client. Lastly I met with an executive team member and the CMO. I felt very qualified for the job I was applying for so none of the questions felt particularly challenging or caught me off guard. They were thoughtful and relevant to the role and I think my answers helped them understand how I approach things and what my experience could lend to the objectives my role would support.

Question 1
How do you keep up with the ever-changing world of marketing and best practices?
I had a phone interview and then an in person interview. The phone interview was pretty quick and straight forward while the in person one was more situational. I'm still awaiting a response.

Interview
Phone screen with h.r. and then with hiring manager, and then in person with team. Very disappointed that human resources representative, who initially was most professional and engaging, ghosted me and never returned my phone calls when I emailed and called his line directly. I drove over 6 hours for the interview, stuck in a lot of traffic, and was not even offered the bathroom or a bottle of water upon my arrival when it was over 80 degrees outside and I was traveling out of state. I was Very interested in the position and had over 25 years of relevant experience. I saw on the website that the person hired had possibly five years of experience, my best guess based on age. Anyway, when I called the main hospital number and asked to be transferred to the person in h.r., he answered the call on the first ring and was clearly caught of guard that it was me, an active candidate. He ignored my direct call less than 3 minutes prior, also ignoring my messages from the prior two weeks. If you think professionalism is lacking, I would agree, especially because the gentleman invited me to contact him with any questions. A simple email response or telephone call is expected, at a minimum!, based on professional business manners and the expectation he set up.
