      Associate Analyst Interview

      Dec 21, 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at National Grid in Dec 2021

      Interview

First, I had a telephone interview asking about my background, why I wanted to work for national grid, the most helpful/ interesting class I took, an instance where I worked well in a group. Then I had the final round interview where I had a group interview with two managers, which asked for examples of specific instances in which I faced an ethical dilema at work and how did I resolve it, when I had a great customer service experience, an instance where I had to be flexible and handle multiple tasks. Following the group interview, I had to work on a case study with other candidates. We were given some time to look over the case study and take notes. Then we convened and collaborated on Miro while our interviewers watched. Finally, we gave a 10 minute presentation.

Why do you want to work for National Grid? Talk about an instance where you had an ethical dilema at work and how did you handle it? Talk about an instance where you proposed a solution and how did others respond? Talk about an instance where you delivered great customer service.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at National Grid in Mar 2024

      Interview

1 interview, 1 hour with 3 people. I had a group interview with 3 people, which asked for examples of specific instances. Basically behavioral questions using the STAR Method. They asked about 10 questions and a follow up sometimes. There were a few technical questions about how to handle data.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about yourself, about a time you failed, about a time you succeeded, about a time you helped someone feel included, how you create an inclusive environment, what are you good at, tell us something that wasn't in your resume that we should know about you.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at National Grid

      Interview

It was a phone interview for 30 mins with one of the Talent Acquisition employees, mostly behavioral questions, inquiring about your schooling and the things you did. Then you waited a while to hear back, but they then scheduled a virtual interview, round two. This was about 3 hours full process. You start off with one or two people in the department that you applied for, they ask you some questions, not too technical just getting a feel for your personality. Then after that there is a group case study, you get time to review on your own then you work with other interviewees as a group. It’s mostly hypothetical, just to see your team skills. Then after that it takes about a month or so to hear back.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell us about yourself. Why did I choose this program? Where do you expect to be in 5 years? Tell us about a time where you had to challenge a leadership decision for ethical reasons. Tell us about the classes you have taken. What do you like about the industry.
