Interview
After a phone screening I met with the hiring manager who seemed to be a pretty likable chap, with a lot of experience. The first rounds were straight forward, but in total I had to go through 5 rounds including scenario based questions and in round 4 some big shot was present that spent his entire career in his own echo chamber rising through his ranks. Anyhow, the question he asked aimed at exposing my weaknesses under stress but the way they were asked raised a few red flags in regards to how political this place is and if a solution architects can actually craft a solution that seeks the best outcome for the clients without getting pressurized by all the vendors. I felt this bloke spent all his career at one place and I also figured they either have a lack of processes or don't value the expertise of their candidates. With 12 years international experience I found the bulk of the questions asked during this round was a waste of everyones time. At the end I had the job but half way through the interview process I lost interest and decided to go to some other place. I heard that the guy who asked the bulk of the stupid questions left or was asked to leave.I also met a couple of employees afterwards and I still think it's a pretty good company. Maybe next time.

Most questions were ok, but why do people ask the text book questions, like what are my strength and weaknesses?
They wanted solutions architect with 10 years experience but only willing to pay for 5 year experience. The interview focused on the candidate having extensive muti cloud experience and willing to start immediately.
