Applied in May and received an email from recruiter a month later asking if I would be interested in discussing the opportunity. Scheduled phone screen with standard questions. There seemed to be some apprehension with the salary requirements. I was told they offer benefits package, annual raise, etc. and therefore my salary could be roughly met based on these benefits.
I was told that the notes based on our call would be shared with the hiring manager and I should hear back by the end of the week. I was also provided the LinkedIn profile link by the recruiter for the hiring manager I would be speaking with in next steps.
I followed up with the recruiter later that week and I was told he did not hear back from the hiring manager and will let me know once he does. I still haven't heard back.
Honestly, I expected more from a company like NRG. Do the right thing and at least notify me via a generic email that you've moved on with other candidates or you're putting the role on freeze. COVID-19 has caused many people to be furloughed or laid off. Don't keep them anticipating next steps.
