I was referred to this role and company by a third party agent. I had an initial conversation with the company representative, and they told me that the next two steps are meeting a team at their office, and after that, if offered the role, meeting with the CEO. The day before my scheduled meeting/interview, I reached out as they hadn't confirmed the time for the next day, and that's when I was told they had decided to conduct a design challenge, and no face to face meeting was needed. They gave a deadline for the challenge until the end of the week, and was instructed that after sending my work, their team would review it and I would then have an opportunity to present my work and design decisions. This change in the process was unexpected, but I did commit to the challenge and sent out the deliverables before end of business day on the same Friday. I didn't hear back until the following Tuesday saying that the team will review my work, and get back to me. Another week passes, and on Monday they sent out a short message stating that I wasn't shortlisted for the position. No chance to present my work, no feedback whatsoever. Complete lack of respect of people's time and effort. Another red flag was the fact that they did not mention salary range or enquire my expectations. I thought I would be able to ask these questions in the face to face meeting that never took place.
