I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at MountainSeed
Interview
Interview process was very conversational and positive until I got the last stage and spoke with an HR person about their offer. She asked me about my prior/current salary (which is illegal in about half of the states) and really pressed me about it when I declined to answer. I finally acquiesced. Then, she shared that the role's salary range was close to half as much as I was making at my current role - far below market value for an experienced CSM. When I mentioned that, the interviewer seemed salty that I wanted higher pay even though they were ostensibly trying to recruit me to leave my job for a new role at their company, with more responsibilities. It made me think the company was out of sync with the times & labor market, and out of touch when it comes to recruiting non-entry level folks. Looking back, I should have asked about salary earlier on in the process but regardless, this conversation felt unprofessional
