TL;DR: really bad interview process, with frequent lack of communication, as the company is/was not vested to do proper recruiting (with respect and organization). The only positive aspect was the conversation with the head of engineering.

The process started with a private message via LinkedIn from an HR person, in order to setup a phone call for presenting the company and the position - ended up being a screening interview (this person tricked my expectation, as I wanted to learn about the company and role first).

Next, a conference call with the head of engineering, which was poorly setup by the HR, wasting half-an-hour of both parties. After solving the issue, we had a positive conversation that I've enjoyed, as it didn't felt like an interview. The place seems like a sophisticated engineering, but the role they needed was at a Director level, not at an Engineering Lead.

After that, no response for weeks. The HR person eventually responded and justified the delay with the reason of being busy (I respect this person's time, but I believe that recruiting should be their top priority...) and that the position was put on hold. I've shared my discontentment with that person and no response so far (I felt disrespected and undervalued).

I've decided to share that incident with the Head of engineering, so that he would be aware of the a negative impact of this process, and so they could improve it. He was quick enough to respond and proposed to move me forward, to which I didn't accept and I proposed to talk in the future when they get more vested into proper respectful recruiting - to which I haven't got an answer so far...

Interview

Brief telephone interview with CTO followed by a technical test to do at home. The telephone interview was friendly and informal covering my work experience and describing the project. The technical was a small React project to be done in 2 hours.
