Screened with HR person and scheduled an in person with the Finance manager. I could tell right away this was a complete waste of time. Of our 30 minute interview (supposed to be 60), I spoke for the last 4 minutes only when she asked me to tell me about myself. Nothing about my experience or situational questions.
The first 10 minutes she asked if I had any questions (not the typical way to start an interview). Usually the hiring manager talks about the roles/responsibilities, scope of work, people you will be working with and then ask about the candidates experience/situational questions etc
She went on to talk about how she has been here 10-11 months and has transformed the finance department in reporting by her modeling skills. She was an obvious workaholic when she said the role would be 50-60 hours a week (below market pay as well). It was also obvious they were only bringing in another analyst to help her with reporting promises to senior leaders that caught up to her. She already knew who she was bringing in, so why bother us meeting.
I let my recruiter know and he told me the hiring manager also did this to another applicant he presented to Mortenson.
