I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at MongoDB (Dublin, Dublin) in Sep 2017
Interview
I was really unimpressed. I got no HR call to go over the role. No one could accurately describe the role, and the details changed significantly over the course of the interviews. They requested approx 13+ hours of my time to go through the process, with multiple calls, case study etc.
Poor communication between stakeholders, manager and recruiter. I was told after about 2 interviews, that it was likely I would get an offer so I have no idea why 8 more rounds were required, though now I am grateful, as it became clear that they had misrepresented the role as much more advanced than it actually was, and it was much more manual and admin work than initially explained. I withdrew at the 8th round.
I was asked to attend an onsite for 3 hours at short notice, and only when I arrived was it made clear that even this was remote. 2.5 hrs on my own in a room on a VC. I had received no agenda, and neither had the interviewers. afterwards, I received an assessment test... after so many calls, and case studies, I really found this excessive.
All in all, very unprofessional, with red flags everywhere. I think the company needs to mature before I'd think of working for them again.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at MongoDB
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me back in October. Had various interviews and was a very start/stop process. Original recruiter was fired, one of the team members I interviewed with left the company. No one would explain why or what happened with them. Company would go on hiring freeze and week later, no more freeze. Red flags everywhere. Final round was a presentation round which is a lot of effort for an interview process. They expect you to know their product inside/out during the presentation when this is only an interview. Overall, declined offer as the interview process is indicative of the company and believe I dodged a bullet.
I applied online. I interviewed at MongoDB (Frankfurt am Main)
Interview
Company makes very positive impression and two people I had a pleasure to speak with were highly professional. After speaking with recruiter and team leader unfortunately I never received any feedback about next stage or disqualification, lack of communication at that stage was a bit disappointing.

Process was thorough and organized, there is an interviewee portal used that details where you are in the process, who you've met with, who you're going to meet with, and any reference materials needed to complete each step. Communication was reliable throughout the process.
