Interview
First was a call. Then scheduled an interview day in their London office, where they did a case study on what candidates to choose, questions, and a personality test. From there, I met with the founder to discuss my personality test and she offered me the job.
I have interviewed for several companies and I could not believe some of the questions that they were asking me. They were borderline racist and left me crying at the train station on my way home. The senior employees were showing signs of being condescending and rude. The personality test asked me traumatic questions about my relationship with my parents and my biggest traumatic childhood experience. I have no idea what this has to do with my ability to perform the role. This interviewing experience was traumatic for me as they made me feel acutely aware of my race and gender in a way that was very tone deaf.
If anyone else has had a similar experience and felt the same way, I want you to know that you are not alone and I am sorry.
