I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at MileIQ in Sep 2024
Interview
First it was a recruiter interview. General questions about the career, examples of challenges in previous projects. After that, a more technical interview were scheduled. Some general questions again, but more focusing on experiences, solving problems examples. Was very similar from the first one but with a little bit more technical questions, but ok.
The third one was the real technical interview, two engineers (one iOS and another one from Android) with technical questions, from the most basic to some deep understanding about iOS. After that, the Android engineer asked some questions about problems to be solved but thinking about the mobile view, not from iOS side. After that a live coding challenge, pretty standard (check if an array exists in another one)
The whole process was very fast, people were nice, but I believe they are seeking for some specific people that has some specific experience with the framework the app needs.
The recruiter interview was pretty easy and straightforward. The hiring manager and I got along well. I moved on to speak with another executive and it was unclear why they did not want to proceed.

Interview
The interviewer was very nice and asked 2 questions before stating she would talk to the hiring manager about moving me to the next round. She was very complimentary and made her decision to move me to the next round in under 5 mins. I was shocked. She asked if I had any questions for her, I asked her more about the role and as she explained, I realized it was different than I expected. They want this role to transition into the director of marketing. I was honest and explained that while my experience is in customer service, I would be open to learn more about marketing. She also said that they could find other positions for me if marketing wasn't a passion. The whole interview was supposed to be 30 mins but lasted only 10 mins. I felt really good and then got a standard "You're not a good fit for this position" email 3 days later. It was all very confusing.
