I have gotten both research positions from emailing people I was interested in collaborating with and could see potential for the future. My resume mainly spoke for itself, my interview was brief, and then I was given a tour of the lab space and further explained my responsibilities. I basically knew from the interview that I had secured the position

Basics about my interests, knowledge in the area I'd be working, seeing myself down the road after college, and anything else I'd like to include.
Interview process was designed to identify and narrow down your research interests. Over all experience was possitive and interviewer stressed the importance that this interview was ment to get to know you rather than to interigate you.

Was referred for the position by a friend. Sent my resume to MSU and heard back within a few days. Met in person with the Project Director, interview was only about half an hour, very casual and laidback. Enjoyed the experience. Would recommend this job to a friend. Laidback environment and a lot of autonomy to do your job.
