After the recruiter screen, hiring manager interview, and two panel interviews, they ghosted me--despite proactive follow-up on my end. I found this to be extremely disrespectful of the time I had invested as a candidate. Overall the people I chatted with seemed kind and competent, but there is clearly a culture of overwork where people regularly work long/late hours in the office. From the recruiter screen I thought that after a 3-month onboarding period, the office was hybrid, but I learned from one of the panelists that you are expected to work 5 days a week in the office most of the time. This lack of flexibility appears to correlate with a lack of diversity on the team. I can't imagine that this company is a welcoming or accommodating place for parents, for example. All interviewers were younger men. I performed well in the interviews and did not give any indication that I had reservations about the culture. The ghosting confirmed my suspicions about a negative and disrespectful environment, so I dodged a bullet as far as I'm concerned.
