The overall process was pretty quick. Round one was a screening where a recruiter asked general questions about my background and salary expectations. The comp offered was way under market but I decided to move forward anyways to see what would happen. Round two was a call with the head of engineering and another manager. They went back and forth asking a mix of behavioral and simple technical questions. Round three was the same as round two but with a different manager attending. The questions were largely the same too so I'm not sure what the purpose was for this interview. Throughout the rounds the interviewers tried to preemptively explain why the Glassdoor rating is so bad but their explanations were superficial and mostly blamed the pandemic. It didn't help that of the people I met the longest tenured person had only been with the company 18 months or that in my research of the company there were many mentions of layoffs. I also got a bad sense from the head of engineering who for some reason felt the need to mention at least three times across their two interviews with me that they had previously worked in FAANG. For these reasons I turned down the offer.
