      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      Mar 5, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Medallia

      Interview

The Interview process was clear from the start. Comprised of a phone interview and two onsite interviews. The coordinator I worked with, Anne, was AMAZING and I'm not exaggerating. She was crystal clear about what to expect throughout each step and made sure to ask me how I felt after every interview. All the interviewers I met with were awesome and asked questions about getting to know me as an individual rather than what was just apparent on my resume. That's ultimately what drew me to Medallia. The culture of the company is embedded in its people, and they take pride in the fact that they choose diverse, passionate, hard-working, and fun individuals.

      Interview

A recruiter reached out to me through email and we set up a phone screen. The phone screen was followed by two phone interviews. Then, I was sent a challenge to complete for my onsite. My onsite was 3 hours; it included a panel session in which I discussed my challenge solution, lunch with a few team members, and two interviews, one of which was a culture interview. Medallia's interview process is designed to set candidates up for success. Don't be alarmed if your recruiter offers to prep you for an interview or introduce you to additional members of the team - his/her enthusiasm is sincere and (if you're willing to accept it) quite refreshing.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The goal of the culture interview is not to test your functional abilities, but rather to gain an understanding of who you are outside of work. Come with an open mind; these will not be your typical interview questions, but rather questions designed to probe into your thought processes. You will probably be asked quite a few "why"-questions, e.g. "What are you passionate about?" followed by "Why are you passionate about it?"

      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      Jun 18, 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Medallia in May 2015

      Interview

I did an informational interview and had a great conversation. I'll be looking into the company further when I am better suited to fully enter the job market. Questions included how I heard about the company, what I knew of the company, and how I would handle situations pertinent to the position. Overall, it was a little intimidating at first, but quickly relaxed into a professional but productive and enjoyable conversation.

      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      May 5, 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Palo Alto, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Medallia (Palo Alto, CA) in Apr 2015

      Interview

I applied online through Glassdoor - process took over a month. I had my first initial phone screen with Russell, one of the coordinators, then I had another phone interview with Anne, another coordinator. From there I had a Skype interview with Amit and then I was brought onsite and met with 2 people individually and then participated in a challenge exercise. I was onsite for 3 hours and they provided lunch as well. After all the interviews and back and forth, I unfortunately didn't receive an offer. Not sure if it was my experience level or the fact that I already had a job and they didn't want me to job hop too soon. Regardless I felt like I had invested so much time into the interview process and wasn't really given a straight answer as to why I was not chosen. Overall it was a great experience and I would LOVE to work at Medallia in the future!

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

You arrive to work and a candidate does not show up for his/her interview - what do you do in that situation? Tell us about your thought process.
      Answer question

      Question 2

Every interviewer is suppose to submit an evaluation prior to the candidate moving on in the process. Two interviewers neglect to submit evaluations after the interview - how would you handle this and how would you effectively get their evaluations submitted on time?

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to interview with us, and I'm very sorry to hear you weren't given a straight answer as to why you didn't receive an offer. I am personally following up with all the coordinators and recruiters involved to see why this didn't take place. I'm glad you had a positive experience despite that! Please let me know if you have any additional insights. My email is amy.pressman@medallia.com.
