I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Marriott International (Washington, DC) in Mar 2009
Interview
The initial phone interview was conducted by their corporate recruiter, who then scheduled a subsequent phone interview with the departmental VP. They flew me to Washington (Bethesda, MD), and I interviewed 1:1 with the recruiter, then 1:1 with the VP, then a panel of project managers. I presented my design portfolio to the VP only. Questions asked by the VP and the panel were very conventional - no "oddball" questions - just relevant questions to determine experiential knowledge. Although I felt very good about the chemistry and my "fit" to their corporate culture, they needed someone who had more saturated experience in the hospitality industry, and my experience is more diverse. Very cordial people and atmosphere. Though disappointed at not receiving an offer, I had trepidation about the extremely high cost of living in the DC area!
