Was interviewed by a small group of employees, all of whom did not even come close to having the number of years of experience working for a broad range of nationally known companies, as I do. The interview was done via Zoom, and the employees were all very friendly. Regarding my interview responses, the main interviewer even said a number of times, "I love that answer." I walked away feeling extremely positive about the interview and my chances of proceeding in the process.
However, just a few hours later, I was contacted and told they were going with "another candidate." My strong suspicion was that the more accurate answer was they were going with a "younger candidate." After my interview, I viewed a company HR video that emphasized the importance the company places on diversity and inclusion. Although that premise is very commendable, and the video showed a number of racially diverse employees, unfortunately it appears that that purported "inclusion" does not extend to individiduals over a certain age. Watch the video for yourself. I noted ONE employee who looked age 45 or above. Wish I would have known this prior to applying.
