Applied online directly through MIT job board. Was contacted about a month later and scheduled for a phone interview. Came in for 2 in person interviews and was told my desired salary was far above what they were able to offer for the position, though I also interviewed for a nearly identical position at another university in Cambridge that was willing to work to match my desired salary.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Would you be willing to take on additional responsibilities beyond what is listed in the job description? This was asked during the same conversation where I was informed they were unable to make a competitive salary offer.
Phone interview with PI, then phone interview with post-doc. Very friendly and interested in what I wanted to do afterwards. Supportive of my professional future. Got the offer and started within 2-3 weeks.
It was pretty good. They asked me to create a powerpoint presentation. During interview, I presented that and additionally, asked some questions on how I would solve certain problems (like how you would set up the experiment).

Question 1
Don't recall but they asked how would I set up an experiment to get certain data.
I applied online. I interviewed at MIT (Richardson, TX) in Apr 2021
Interview
Pretty smooth. First, they gave me details about the position and the responsibilities involved, followed by questions. Several lab members took my interview. They were very sweet and I enjoyed talking to them all.
