      Application

I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at MCAConnect (Denver, CO) in Oct 2018

      Interview

Asking general questions about your past experiences and a few general questions about the basics of object-oriented design. After the interview, they never get back to you, even if you email them to follow up. Waste of time!

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MCAConnect (Houston, TX) in Oct 2019

      Interview

I first met a representative of MCAConnect at my school's career fair, then I was contacted by their recruiter through email to set up my interviews. The recruiter set up a phone call with me and gave me a rundown of the company and what they do, and answered any questions I had about the company or the interview. I had 2 in-person interviews total (about 1 week apart), both of which lasted from 30-50 minutes. The interviewer was very easy to talk to, and I felt very comfortable with her. She asked me basic OOP-related questions, and one or two behavioral questions. She also told me all about the company and the job position. Fortunately, I made it to the next round of interviews. This one was different from the last because my interviewers seemed more interested in getting to know me, my hobbies, and my programming classes/projects. No interview questions here really, more of a get to know you type of deal. Overall, all of the people I came into contact with at MCAConnect were very friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. They really put you at ease and make the company seem like an appealing place to work! The only gripe I have is that I was not contacted by the company again. This was very disappointing, since my recruiter was initially very helpful. I would have hoped MCAConnect would at least send me a formal rejection, or respond to my email regarding a follow-up. As another reviewer mentioned, they essentially ghost you if you do not qualify.

      Question 1

Basic questions about object-oriented programming. No coding problems, but they did ask what method I would use to solve a certain scenario.

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at MCAConnect

      Interview

My initial contact was through a college career fair, just cruising for prospects. Everyone at the mcaConnect booth was friendly and outgoing, and the brief they gave me on their mission and environment intrigued me. An information session held at my college some weeks later reinforced these initial impressions, and provided me with a strong incentive to apply. My situation was somewhat unusual, since I decided to stay a semester longer at college than originally anticipated, and ended up waiting a full year for the cycle to roll around. When it was application season again, we got in touch -- and I was pleased to discover my contacts remembered who I was, a big plus in terms of company environment. The first real interview mixed technical with behavioral, and took place at the career center at my school. Questions like "please describe the difference between an interface and an abstract class" intermingled with questions regarding my personality. This was also an opportunity to learn about mcaConnect from a personal perspective. My second round interview was very different than expected. It felt more like a relaxed conversation than a scrutiny of my abilities, and centered a lot on me as a person, how I fit in to teams, experiences I've had, and what I'm looking to do with my life. It was also another chance for me to get more in-depth detail on what things are like at mcaConnect. More than judgement, this interview established a comfortable and natural setting for both myself and my interviewer to get a feel for the kind of environment we each represented and were looking for in the other person/organization. Most of this process was interspersed with communication with the recruiter, a friendly and helpful person who assisted me greatly in navigating the application and hiring procedures.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The interviewer put forward a general business process question, asking me to describe a hypothetical product order from the company's end and how that might work.
