I was recruiter for a dat architect permanent role. Recruiter asked and was insistent on knowing my expected salary. Sometimes that is how it is so I obliged since it didn't seem like we would advance without that info. Then then weirdness happened. The recruiter mentioned she would pass my resume to the hiring manager for next steps. The recruiter then informed me the next day that the hiring manager was submitting my profile to a client and would get back to me. This was wholly inappropriate. I did not offer permission to get shopped to Luxoft clients and mentioned I could be submitted for a contract through another vendor to the same client. My expectation was that this was a permanent role and not a contract role contingent on a client acceptance. That is what we call contractor work. I asked to not be submitted and removed myself from consideration. Not a good experience at all. Very shady. Had I known this was a contract role I was being submitted for and who I was being submitted too that would have changed the conversation but this was certainly not a permanent opportunity. Hard pass on this place.
