I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Luminess Direct in Aug 2022
Interview
This company is interesting. The interview process was really fast but the environment they were painting was not a good fit for me. They are looking for a very aggressive hunter who is looking to get the job done "by any means", and they mean it. they bascially asked me about my ethical outlook on selling and asked if I was willing to go against some of the ethics to get the job done. to each there own but I think building rapport is more important than burning bridges.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Luminess Direct (Houston, TX) in Aug 2020
Interview
Luminess Air used a recruiting company so the business name was not initially disclosed. It is advertised as “national beauty brand”. Until I got the call to schedule a video interview with management I was I inform of the name. I did my research and found some negative reviews but never being one to jump to conclusion, I went through the interview with an open mind. I had to interview with 3 people. Each jumping in at different times. I have to say that the first interviewer was pleasant, you can tell she is there to make sure you feel comfortable and sell you the image of the company. The second interviewer I had was a nightmare. I can see what many reviews meant about management being very closed minded and very much black and white. If during an interview this person was aggressive and a bit of a bully, I can only imagine how they are on a day to day. She even had the audacity to judge how my current company structure their day to day. Every company is different and you shouldn’t criticize during an interview someone else’s current role based on how their current company feels things are done. We all do a job not only based on our skills but also based on how a company runs things. Just because they run things different doesn’t mean they are not successful or doing it right. This person was very much defensive and very close minded. I knew at that moment there was no way this person was a good manager. The last interviewer was the “analytical” person and asked questions regarding the platforms. He was very mono tone and just uninterested but never rude. My overall experience was a disappointment and more so to learn that the reviews were true. If this is how they are during an interview, I don’t want to ever find out how one is treated as an employee. Just by that interview I knew I would be going into an unhealthy work environment. I got off my video call and I called the recruiter and ask them not to move my application forward after my video call.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Luminess Direct (Stafford, TX) in Mar 2018
Interview
The interview lasted around 10 minutes. It's an entry level temp to hire position and pays $33,000. My impression was that they were looking for a person with a lot of logistics experience even though the position reads Purchasing. I was not aware of the fact that it's not a full time position. Most of the companies will check on the phone with the potential candidate if he/she is o.k. with temp to hire position and if the position is in their salary range.
Based on the reviews, this company doesn't offer medical benefits and 401 (k).
I was very skeptical going for this interview based on the Glass-door and Indeed reviews.
I would recommend they do a better phone prescreening prior to inviting someone for an interview.
