Details: Seven months ago a recruiter contacted me and from her words they seemed on a rush and wanted to finish everything fast so she send me a technical task to do it. I passed this step but in the same mail she said they will hold on the position for now !! A month or so ago she contacted me again to schedule an HR interview, I passed it so we scheduled a technical interview. I passed it as well, so we scheduled a final interview with a manager, the mail literally stated “a friendly face-to-face video call” although the mail stated it’s a friendly interview I asked the recruiter what is the type of that interview so I can prepare well. She said it would be behavioral with some technical questions. We started the interview and he asked personal questions and my opinions on some technical aspects and before 15 minutes from the end of the interview, he asked a system design question. REALLY REALLY, a system design question in 15 minutes on a “friendly” interview. I really don’t understand a company that focuses on developing an SDK would benefit from a system design question, but the interviewer maybe said let’s be cool guys and ask it anyway in a ”friendly” interview. I don’t have issue with ta system design interview on itself, but they never clarified it to me about that interview type. Really a bad experience from a (supposedly) well reputable company.
