The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Las Vegas, NV) in Aug 2011
Interview
Upon submitting my application and resume via online, a couple days later I was contacted by a human resource manager who was interested in interviewing me next week. We scheduled the interview and when I showed up to the interview fifteen minutes early, she prompty greeted me and we went into her office to begin the interview. She asked me to read a brief overview of the general responsibilities of a Customer Service Associate, then sign and date the form. After that, she asked me about six behavioral basd/situational questions from past work experience. After she was finished, I was immediately introduced to the store manager who asked me about five or six more behavioral based questions. The interview lasted about 1 hour. About an hour later I was contacted by the human resource manager offering me the job and inform me of the rate of pay per hour. She promptly scheduled me to come in to do my drug screening in which she informed me could take up to a week to find out the results. Once I find out that I pass the drug screen, I will immediately be scheduled to begin orientation. As a result of already having had a background check done by another Lowe's who had offered me a position with their store recently, I would not have to wait a week for the background check.

Interview
I was interviewed 5 days after I submitted the application. Seemed to be a great interview but wasn't picked for the position so I applied for the same position in another dept and am being considered. The HR hiring manager stated that every position has a 3 candidate interview. So the position goes to who seems the most qualified. That's what I call the luck of the draw, so I am not holding my breath
