I submitted a resume for a particular technical position and heard back almost immediately from HR, who set up a phone interview for later that week. I prepped, learned as much as I could about the job and specific position I was interviewing for. Talked with HR person again for scheduled phone interview, lasted about 20 min., questions were basic - what were my qualifications, work history and what value did I bring to the table for the company. I answered all the questions w/quick and intelligent responses; never heard another word from the company, despite plans the HR person made with me to follow up by phone the next week. She even gave me her direct email address (not a generic dept. email) and never responded.
