I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LongHorn Steakhouse (Chicago, IL) in May 2014
Interview
3 interview process, ended up waiting over 2 hours for last interview just to be told that my culinary degree & kitchen exp. did not prepare me for Longhorn. The first 2 seemed to think I'd fit, but not the managing partner. Wish the managers wouldn't have wasted my time
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Didn't expect to be asked the 5 mother sauces especially since they're not used there, but the managing partner just threw it out there since she knew a person that went through culinary school.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at LongHorn Steakhouse (Minot, ND)
Interview
First one was good she said she would hire on spot then 2nd one came and it felt like it was rushed. Kinda wasted my time and talked down too me durring the 2nd interview
I applied in-person. I interviewed at LongHorn Steakhouse (Woodbridge, NJ) in Dec 2025
Interview
Easy going. Very friendly, just a couple of questions. The only thing was that they promised a call to another interview and it never happened. I was waiting for the call, it would be nice if they would called with a response.
It was a very easy interview. I enjoyed it simply because of how quick and easy it was. It didn't take no longer than 10 minutes. I believe everyone who has a little be of peoples skills can get this job.
