I had a one-on-one interview with the department director. It went well and I was impressed with the department - unfortunately, I was the only female in sight. After a 2-month hiatus in communication, I was asked in for a second interview which as horribly intimidating after such a long lull. I was introduced to a boardroom of people. I am hopeful the process hole that leads to the lag and the communication shortcomings has been fixed. And that the team has added some female perspectives since then. In the end, I did not get an offer and I respect their decision in that. I was overqualified for the job and they saw that my contentment with the position would not last.
