I had a first call with HR, which went well. I completed a logic test and had the interview with the hiring manager. Nothing negative to say about the interview itself. My issue is how they ghosted me after that. The hiring manager said I should hear from them the same day, but I didn't. I followed up with the HR person after a week, still nothing. An automated message would have been better than this.

Question 1
questions about my experience, as well as some behavioural questions.
I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Lendable (UK) in Jun 2026
Interview
I booked an interview with the talent team, who cancelled the day of due to illness. Despite my timely follow ups, a new date was not booked in promptly - the rearranged call happened 15 days later. It went fine and I was recommended for a conversation with the Group CMO, and was also sent a cognitive assessment that I completed within an hour or two. Following that call, it has been a further 15 days with no contact from Lendable, despite me sending two chasers to the Talent team. I think it is poor form to ghost a candidate who participated in two interviews.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interviews were general chit chat, lacked structure and seemed mostly based on vibes.
- Call with hiring manager went well. I was aired that I would go to next round. Then, they ghosted me for two weeks. Only after I contacted hiring manager through LinkedIn, i got take home task.
- I was too receive cognitive assignment, which never arrived!
- with regard to take home task, It was about building a ML model for one of their datasets / problems. With the help of claude code, I developed a full project with PROPER data cleaning, fair engineering, 3 kinds of models (LightGBM, TorchModel and pretrained TabPFN foundation model), 4 metrics on validation data (precision, recall, false positive rate etc), model calibration, and model explanation (SHAP, Captum’s Integrated Gradients) and finally appropriate test cases covering 40 cases.
It was a production ready code and all this was done in a few hours. Yet, I was rejected. The reason was the code was too complex!
If their expectation is to write code without AI, either they should say that explicitly or they are living in 2000s!!
