This company's interview process is incredibly burdensome. You're required to prior to receiving the first of two interviews the following:
- three assessments from Indeed
- being intimately aware of the job responsibilities (see below)
- filling out a link that when you select it, requires the candidate to fill out a questionnaire that has a tone of condescension to it, and embedded in it was 2 specific tasks to complete an item at 16personalities.com and at highperformanceindicator.com
- then when selecting your interview time, you're not told directly it's a group interview and you are mandated to respond to the email in a very specific way where they indicate that you following directions to "show your ability to follow directions and pay attention"
Now, the first giant red flag is use of a commercial site that after completing the survey will openly solicit you to buy their products (highperformanceindicator.com).
Let's talk the group interview. You're on a Teams meeting with 3 other people: one candidate and two representatives of the company. Expect to be talked down to. Expect to have to listen to them drone on needlessly. And, expect profanity - 6 separate instances of direct cursing occurred. During my interview one of the comments that we were told was that "we can smell a check casher a mile away" when they were asked about work-life balance. They state that they are a boutique IT firm with approximately 20 minutes. Yet, when they describe their team structure it's everyone as a support engineer and two team leads that do systems and solutions architecture. They proudly claim that they have a startup culture even tho the company has been in existence 21 years. Hubris is not lacking from this company - you are directly told that you do not know anything when you walk in the door and the expectation is that they will shape you. The sole purpose of this group interview is to see how you react to being accosted. Maintain a calm face, and you get into the next round, and the third and largest red flag.
The technical questionnaire comes in 2 parts: a "quick" survey of skills and knowledge thereof, and a nefarious task sheet that has this statement:
"Please review this list of items that we have on our plates for immediate execution and to get your thoughts on if you could do any of these tasks, and to gather your thoughts on each one. " (see below for the actual tech questions)
The five tasks given are mostly projects, not tasks. There's at least three projects (potentially four).
