I went through four interviews over the course of six months and was told at the end that I was the only finalist left and that they expected to offer me the job. I received another job offer and asked them if they planned to offer me the job the following week. They said they still needed a few more weeks. I wasn't sure what the hold up was if I was the only person being considered after six months, so I declined and accepted the offer at the other job. Really demoralizing. I hope they improve their hiring practices because I don't know what the decision paralysis was.
