The initial interview with HR was rescheduled due to a sick child. When the interview did take place, it was a typical screening. I was told I would hear something the following week and did not. I followed up 2 weeks after the initial interview with no response, and again the following week with no response. I finally heard back from HR 4 weeks after the initial interview, only to state that I would hear something in 1-2 weeks. I did get a second interview with the CMO and VP of Marketing Strategy whom did not seem at all engaged from the beginning of the interview. I opened the interview by providing color to my work experience and interest in the company/role (not detailed in my CV) and even stated that I would allow them to ask pointed questions about my roles to allow us to be more efficient with our time. I found the line of questions to be very elementary (describe yourself in 3 words, how many project do you work on in a week or month?) and what I would have expected in a entry level project management or account coordinator role. I was not asked any specific questions about my current or previous roles. While I attempted to highlight aspects of my current role what I believed to be relevant to this position, it was clear to me they did not understand and didn't attempt a follow up question, nor did they seem interested. As someone who interviews candidates on a regular basis, I was underwhelmed by the preparedness and level experience of the interviewers, who did not seem sure what type of candidate they were looking for. I asked the question, what are some of the pain points or areas of concern you'd like the person filling this chair to address - their response was, "nothing sticks out, we do pretty well. I left the building wondering why they were even filling this chair, as it seemed the role was very inconsequential. Their PMs were referred to as "order takers" at one point in the interview.
