      Anonymous interview candidate
      Costa Mesa, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at La-Z-Boy (Costa Mesa, CA) in Nov 2019

      Interview

Interviewer was unprofessional and biased. I did not feel the interview was conducted professionally. I did not enjoy the store environment nor did I feel the salary was equal to the experience.

      Interview

Informal sit-down with store manager, they explained a general idea of how commission revenue is done and it wasn't very easy to understand how someone would make a decent living in this are based on salary plus commissions. Very quiet store, seems like foot traffic in minimal. No lead generation offered to sales...

      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at La-Z-Boy (Spanish Fort, AL)

      Interview

I received an email on a Thursday asking if I could come for an interview the next Tuesday or Wednesday. I immediate replied back that anytimeTuesday would be fine and asked what time would he like me to be there. I don't hear back. The next day, I sent a second email asking again for a time and received no answer. Tuesday morning, I called and got voicemail, and left a message asking if the interview was still on, and if so, what time. I got a text about 10 minutes later asking if I could be there at 1:30. I responded that that would be fine, I would see them at 1:30. I get a text back that said "grea". He didn't even finish typing out the word. I showed up for the interview about 10 minutes early. I was told to fill out a paper application, it took them about 10 minutes to find one. Finally, can last cake it and said "here, we couldn't find the new ones, just use this old one". No problem. I sit down and start filling it out. The manager walks over and says "don't worry about filling out the back, we've got your online one and your resume, it's fine. " I gave him the completed first page, and we walked over and say down on a couch in the showroom. He never looked at it. He asked me what I was doing now, I told him. He v asked me if why I wanted to work in that store instead of one of their other ones, I told him the others were an 1 1/2 drive from my house. He then started telling me what the job was like, kind of down playing it like it sucked. Told me to email him a list of questions that I had and he would answer them, which I did, and of course he never responded. The whole process was treated like he didn't want to do it. Very irritating. HE asked me to come for an interview. If he changed his mind after the initial email, then he shouldn't have wasted my time or his.
