In a recent interview experience, I felt there may have been a misunderstanding regarding my background. My surname is Korean through marriage, but I am not Korean myself. Once this became clear, the interview shifted noticeably, and I was asked only a couple of questions before it ended. I have strong confidence in my interviewing abilities and a solid track record of securing roles, so the lack of follow-up was surprising. A similar experience happened with the same organisation later on, which made me question whether assumptions were being made before my skills were properly considered. I know I am more than capable of performing the role and bring valuable strengths to any team.

why korean products do you know
Interview was over the phone with HR member, went quite well and was offered a trial but manager was barely looking in my direction when I was talking to customers. Talked to every single customer in the store, successfully recommended a product and the customer thanked me and yet the manager was on the other side of the store. Was quizzed on skincare and was told I did great and yet I was ghosted. Terrible experience
