The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Klaviyo
Interview
Everyone involved in the interview process was kind, welcoming, and affable. Each person provided a glimpse into the Klaviyo culture and they were all very transparent in their answers to my questions.
It was one of the lengthier processes I've been involved in, but given Klaviyo's growth and some of the dynamics involved I felt they handled it incredibly well and were very transparent and proactive about what was happening on their side (massive shoutout to Emily on the recruiting team!)
The interview process was:
1. Recruiter call
2. Hiring Manager
3. Take home test
4. Product Management Peer
5. Chief Product Officer
6. VP of Product
7. Director of Engineering
8. Whiteboard exercise
I had two additional interviews with a different hiring manager and product management peers because the team felt my background would be a better fit in that area.
Everyone was very understanding and apologetic about the extra interviews, though I felt they all made it so fun and engaging it really didn't bother me in the slightest.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Q: Have you ever managed someone who was under-performing and, if so, how did you work with them?
Q: Can you tell me about your process for developing a product strategy using an example from your past roles?
Q: If you've managed an under-performer before, how did you balance your time so your top performers still had appropriate attention?
Q: What's a mistake you've made managing someone in the past? How did you address it?
We're so glad that you had a positive interview experience (we love Emily!), and hope you're enjoying your time as a Klaviyo! Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback!

Application
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Klaviyo (Boston, MA) in May 2022
Interview
3 weeks with "homework assignments" to critique a mock product plan via Google Doc and multiple interviews including a cram session to do a white board design for a new software feature.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Klaviyo (New York, NY)
Interview
Overall process went very well until take-home assessment. After spending 2-3 hours to complete the assessment, after submitting it I never heard back again from the company.
Regardless of the outcome of the interview, it is really disappointing to see this company ghost candidates during the interview process. Shows no respect for people and their time.
We're very sorry to hear that this was your experience interviewing with us. We appreciate the time you took to interview, and to write this review. Your feedback is valued, and we've shared it with our team so that we can keep improving our process and the candidate experience.
