I applied in-person. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Klarna (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Nov 2017
Interview
The interview process it self was quite lengthy, many interviews, but it was also very thorough and gave me an opportunity to meet many different people across the organisation. That process helped me make a decision and to accept the offer I received. The whole interview process was very professional and it was divided into phone, online (video), and on site interviews. For the engineering position an IQ test (pattern recognition) and coding tests were conducted, all which should be easy to pass for an average engineer.
I do have mixed feelings about conducting IQ tests during an interview process, I don't personally mind them. But there are studies done, suggesting that there is no direct correlation between intelligence , analytical and logical think process. Klarna might actually miss out on good candidates by using IQ tests.
I'm also impressed by Klarna's recruiter, if all of them are as talented as the person I interacted with that would be awesome.

Question 1
I can't actually think of an unexpected or difficult question asked. The toughest one for me was probably "What would be required of us for you to accept our offer?"
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Klarna (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Jan 2025
Interview
Screening interview, then Cultural Fit in parallel with a case interview, they added a technical interview more connected to system design, then meeting other L4.5s, and offer after a few weeks. The interviews were rushed and I felt interviewers checking boxes instead of trying to establish a meaningful connection

Question 1
How to keep engineers motivated during challenging times?
During the behavioral interview the interviewer was not experienced and wasted a lot of time discussing experiences from years ago instead of more recent related experiences
I didn't push forward for the next steps in the end but I didn't get a very good impression
Solid and well run, got to meet quite a few people from the Engineering Organization. I wouldn't change anything, as this process totally met my expectations, even though it took a bit longer that I wanted it to.
