Got an email from their HR a month after I applied for the job. HR didn’t do the screening interview with me. Instead, they sent me almost 10 questions, including asking me to talk about current social media trends and develop a strategy for a new product launch, and so on. It was like an take home assignment, I would say. It took quite a bit of time to write all those answers. And this was even before their screening interview.
I sent the answers back to them, and a week later they scheduled a “screening interview” with me. It was a half-hour chat with the marketing manager and a teammate. They asked things like how I got my previous jobs and why I left, how to run a paid ad campaign, what social media platforms I like and which ones I think fit brand marketing best, what certifications I have and how they’ve helped me in my role, and to walk them through a successful post I created. They also asked about what kind of management style I like. Some good questions, I admit. But honestly, I just didn’t get a good vibe from the whole interview process.
