After a basic HR screening they jumped straight to a 3 hour code test. The task was to simply code up as much of one-page Sketch design as possible.
Unfortunately, the conditions of the test required that you use their spaghetti code theme framework (101 theme files, 31,559 dependencies, and such gems as "baby-bear", "mama-bear", and "papa-bear" as the names for the media queries). I spent an hour and a half of trying to debug errors and eventually emailed the lead dev to see if he had any insight, to which he replied "oh, it's not designed to work on Windows."
Basically, everything wrong with the current state of WordPress development in a nutshell (not surprising that their portfolio is riddled with errors).
